Adding an Events Calendar

  1. Mouse over the “+” symbol next to the section you'd like to add a calendar to and click “Add Calendar”
  2. Enter a title for your Calendar in the “Long Title” Field.
  3. Enter a short description of your Calendar in the “Summary” field. (Optional)
  4. Enter some content for your Calendar in the “Content” field.
  5. Click “Save.”

Adding an Event

  • Mouse over the “+” symbol next to the Calkendar and add a Page, Link, or File to your Calendar. This will be the detail page for your event. Allowing different file types allows you to link to another site or another page within your site, post the information in a PDF, Word doc, whatever, or simply include event details as page content.
  • Enter a title for your event in the “Long Title” Field.
  • Add your content to the page, URL for the link or upload a File
  • Set a Date Range for your event by setting it in the "Display" dropdown. Set the Start/End Date the same for a single day event or set different Dates for an event that spans multiple days.
  • Click "Publish." Your event will now show up on your Calendar.

I cannot get this to work for the life of me, in either MURA standard or Express. I've followed the instructions above several times. All I get is a calendar to appear with nothing on it. I'm using the latest MURA (5.1). Am I missing something? Can you provide an example of a working calendar with events?

Thanks.

Turns out I was unchecking the "Include in Site Navigation" option. Selecting this option will allow the content to appear on the calendar (but not on the Site Navigation Menu, as I was incorrectly assuming).

So how do I create a reoccurring event to the calendar?
