Secondary Navigation Content Objects

One of the benefits of Mura CMS is not having to create and maintain navigation manually. To this end, Mura provides several pre-built navigation objects to quickly and efficiently provide users a way to access your content.

Secondary Navigation

  • Peer Navigation: Peer Navigation displays links to content nodes that are on the same level as the page you are on.
  • Sub Navigation: Sub Navigation shows links to all the immediate children of the page that you are currently on.
  • Standard Navigation: Mura's standard way of handling navigation when it is uncertain how deep content will be. Simply put, Standard Navigation combines peer navigation with sub navigation, showing:
    • All peers of the current node you are on.
    • Immediate children of the node you are on.
  • Portal Navigation: Portal Navigation is the same as Standard Navigation but Portal Navigation doesn't display any of the child content in portals. The reason being that portals typically might have hundreds of news items, press releases, or blog posts, which could quickly make your navigation unmanageably large.
  • Sequential Navigation: Sequential Navigation is used to provide a way to sequentially view nodes within a portal. It's useful for creating product tours, breaking large amounts of content into more digestible chunks, or anything that would benefit from viewing in sequence.
