Image Galleries
Mura has a specific content type tailored to the display of images.
Creating an Image Gallery
The process for creating and editing the same as any other content item, which is covered in the Adding Content and Editing Content sections. However, the process of adding items to a gallery is unique. This process is described below.
Adding an Item to a Gallery
After creating an image gallery item, you can add items to it through the Site Manager. Within the Site Manager, hover over the plus button associated with your image gallery. A menu will appear. Select Add Gallery Item from the menu.

A screen similar to the Edit Content page will appear, with a few key differences:

- Title: This is the title of your image. The title will be displayed with the large version of your image.
- Navigation Title: Like content items, this is the Navigation or "short title" for your image. This field is optional and will be filled in automatically if left blank.
- Content Summary: Here you can enter a description of your image. The description is displayed on the gallery page along with the image.
- Select File to Upload: This is where you upload your image. Click the browse button to browse the local computer for your image.
When you are finished filling out the necessary fields, you can save the gallery item as a draft or publish it to your site.
Image Sizes
When you upload an image, Mura will create a small, medium, and large version of the image. The sizes for each are specified in the Site Settings. View the Site Settings section on Images for more information.
Gallery Display
Your images will be displayed as thumbnails on the gallery page. Clicking on any thumbnail will bring up a large version of the image. Here's an example of the large image in shadowbox view:

Notes:
- If you uncheck the "include in site navigation" option on a gallery item, it will not show up in the thumbnails on the gallery page.
- The default behavior for Mura is to display the images in a Shadowbox view, but you can use Lightbox, or any other method you choose. To make changes to the way galleries work, you can edit the gallery file in the display objects for the site at [siteid]/includes/display_objects/gallery/index.cfm.
