Calendars

Mura CMS has a simple Calendar tool that makes it easy to publish a Calendar and add event detail pages.

Creating a Calendar

The process of creating a Calendar is covered in the Adding Content and Editing Content sections.

Adding Events

You can add events to your calendar through the Site Manager. To add events, hover over the plus button associated with your calendar. To add an event, click Add Page. It is possible to add other content types to a calendar as well.

Add Event Page

A page that resembles the Edit Content page will appear:

Add Calendar Page

  • Title: This is the title for your calendar item, and will be displayed on the item page.
  • Navigation Title: Like other content items, this is the "short title" used in navigation. For calendar items, this is the title displayed within the calendar.
  • Content: You can add content here. For example, for an event page, you might include the event details, background, location, or other notes you would like your guests to know.
  • Display: For your item to show up on the calendar, choose "Per Start/Stop Dates". Choose your event date and time here. Note: If you have a one-day event, choose the same date for the start and stop dates.

When you are finished, save your item as a draft or publish to the live site. Within the Site Manager, you should see your items listed underneath your Calendar page. Make sure to zoom or increase the levels displayed if you do not see your items.

Calendar Display

Your calendar page will display the titles of any items you have added. Here's an example of what your calendar will look like:

Clicking on the event name will display the even page. Here's an example of the content area of an event page:

The Event Reminder Form

An event reminder form lets users sign up to be reminded via email about a specific event. You can place an event reminder form into your page as a Content Object. The object is located within the "System" category. See the Content Objects tab section for more information.
